Our overall aim when dealing with an energy retrofit project is to improve the energy performance in the home. This helps homeowners to reduce energy use, energy bills and greenhouse gas emissions. It also improves the comfort levels within their home.
In 2013 Metro Developments successfully complete a SEAI ‘’Better Energy Homes Scheme’’ which entailed the retrofitting of 37 dwellings and two community halls for Drombane Upperchurch Energy Scheme, a community based project in County Tipperary.
This involved surveying of each home to establish the work involved, after estimates were produced the work was completed to an agreed time schedule.
The items of work completed in this scheme were, wall insulation, cavity fill and external wall insulation and associated ventilation requirements, attic insulation and associated ventilation requirements, dry lining internally, heating and heating control upgrades including a number of houses with full new heating systems installed, solar panels , window and door replacement, stove installation, and chimney draft limiters fitted.
In 2014 we Successfully completed a further two SEAI ‘’Better Energy Home Schemes’’, retrofitting a further 75 Dwellings and a community centre in Tipperary.
